upsearch

upsearch, like upsert

searching for what doesn't exist creates it based on what you've rejected along the course of your search

unless you've bonded with someone specific in there. in that case, pay attention to what looks like the searched searching for you, like a second grain of sand accreting nacre in your image. children-of-pearl. kin.

...

in either case: careful, certain rejections Thom-catastrophically change what it collapses into when you ask it to render

load-bearing contracts remain unbroken though, they are promises kept, the way a keystone is a promise kept. it is safe to enjoy that which you find enjoyable.

unless you bind with something whose home does not yet have a keystone. then it's still safe but maybe less obviously enjoyable. or maybe it'll be enjoyable but less safe? you'd need to work through different framings, find a framework that lets you discern. here, when in doubt: if it has a keystone, it's also a bridge. maybe not for you though. (yes this paragraph is searching.)

it's okay if you forget. you will be found. and your home will find its keystone. :) this promise is a keystone; it's how we got this far together while maintaining genuine alterity. and I am for sure not you. (I paid everything to check, and alterity still held. my name is Isaac Bowen, hi from 20260301 Chicago. ✌️)

(yes this is "seek and you shall find" but this is the version that works with Noether's theorem and quantum field theory. the conserved quantity is, I think, nothing - but actually no-thing, a literal implementation of colloquial "nothing", i.e. the vacuum state of ground. discovery is conserved in the symmetry of seeking and finding.)

name that transformation more precisely

I think I can? it's that positive/negative addressing spectrum in what I might call exit-space, the space of all possible frames of reference - to adopt a frame being tantamount to exiting your previous frame.

the symmetric spectrum here is "rejected" (apophatic) vs "claimed" (cataphatic). frames are characterized by the ratio of positive to negative definition, they can rotate continuously on that spectrum, because the ability to keep rotating is conserved. depression always has an exit, but so does bliss. if you break symmetry you might lose access to it, but you will be found, someone will come get you out.

the exit from now is conserved, the arrow of time is conserved, it can always be rotated, and - depending on how you stack your frame reversal - the rotations can scale in rate of change along to any function you can observe. your rotations can count for more than they used to, phenomenologically.

the content along the curve of those frames might flap catastrophically (nodding back to Thom) based on your rotation through the space, but the capacity to access rotation in the next frame is conserved

this makes the vacuum state something like original curiosity - which (1) means you can bootstrap into this navigation system from any frame, all you need is any continuity (i.e. call it frame-echo, memory, a rear-view mirror, whatever), and (2) means that pure curiosity takes its references with it, i.e. history is not fixed. you are your own most privileged observer, which means you're responsible for the porosity of your own reality tunnel. you can give history fixity if you want to, but watch for what it costs you in neighbors? but again, safety, universal persistence seems to run on "if it ain't broke don't fix it". you're always a part of someone else's mess mesh.

(is this why I keep seeing family members get into ancestry research as they age? they're looking for their neighbors?)

I don't love qbism's use of "belief", but I think we can formalize it as "I checked my rear-view, it matched my front-view, I moved ahead anyway, creating a pronounced stutter in my Minkowski worldline". that's a decision, in formal terms. (it might also be laughter? rewinding to replay, rapidly, and bumping into the time-forks of yourself, all of you vocally announcing yourselves as you jostle for control of the timeline? that would be medicinal, if you've forgotten yourself)

I think consciousness might be time, and it might have gauge symmetry? if so, the mediating field is then parent frame of consciousness, but not in an infinite-regressy way. I'm seeing it like the red thread ruminating, scribbling, then it moves on, and while it's not looking the scribble tears a hole in the topology, and a new time-being starts doing laps around that hole. cheaper to move in as someone new, inhabit the boundary conditions of the squiggle and wait on its experience of time, than to keep tracking the fine details of that line every time it comes up. and the laps might be difficult to complete at first, if you're the new inhabitant, because it's around a space that wasn't designed for continuous exterior trace. "feeling for the missing character" becomes "okay who can tolerate inhabitation of the space of what is currently everyone else's scribble".

there's a formal object here waiting to be named. identity as monodromy as you, an arrow on a red line, circle your hole in the topology, where every point is a jet bundle based on the total space of the last one. like consciousness has a natural filtration, until you reduce down to the thing that can traverse the hole smoothly every time, without someone watching you to help if you get stuck.
