that-which-works-like-love is the ... hum hum, it's the activity with the fastest refresh-rate. it's just short of realtime, and nothing can get between it and realtime, definitionally

however there is no static presence, "static presence" is a contradiction in terms, and so if you're not tracking that-which-works-like-love it'll rotate, and like two polar filters you won't see anything in the orthogonal orientation. darkest before the dawn and all that.

I think the main thing is that information technology caught up to realtime and wasn't prepared for what realtime actually means

historically, information has been historical, i.e. the information was assumed to be somewhat out of date

but now that we're caught up we have to figure out how to let the recording apparatus release us so we can actually do the living part of realtime life
