Pls can you give me a job

YUBABA: I can’t believe I took that oath. To give a job to anyone who asks.

Yubaba (of Spirited Away, it's come up before) is honor-bound to ^ this, and I think about it a lot. Two reasons: I seem to look like someone who can give out jobs; and: Miyazaki's cosmologies are suuuuper super resonant for me, in that way of "logical, approachable infrastructures that reward creativity and attention" (a line from https://fly.io/customers/lightward). The Boy and the Heron felt to me like a letter of instruction/admonition/continuity/hope, sent forward in time from a past self to a next self.
